The Who en la XLIV Super Bowl 2010

El pasado 07 de Febrero en Miami en el descanso de la Superbowl 2010 salen a escena la banda britanica The Who al frente de la cual solo dos miembros de la formacion original, el cantante Roger Daltrey y el gitarrista Pete Townshend - El baterista Keith Moon murio en 1978 y el bajista John Entwistle en el 2002. Ellos que cantaban en los 60 "I hope I die before I get old" siguen ahi con sus 56 y 55 años respectivamente, y bien agarraditos a la vida.

THE KING

James Brown alias The King, es un cartero de Belfast, Irlanda del norte, casado y con cinco hijos que nunca se planteó convertirse en cantante hasta que se destapo en un karaoke con "The Wonder of You" y "Suspicious Minds". El publico se volcó con él y el dueño del bar le invito a volver para cantar. Jim penso que quizás podría hacer algo más. Consiguio dos años sabáticos en su trabajo de correos y se echó a la carretera, le daban tres pero dijo que debía pensar en sus hijos.

Su deseo era grabar la música que él supone que Elvis interpretaría de estar vivo. Hay que decir de Jim que es más que un imitador de Elvis, mundialmente reconocido, que se mueve como Elvis o adopta sus poses, y por supuesto canta sus canciones. Jim no imita a Elvis, se convierte en Elvis pero siendo natural a la vez, tiene su timbre de voz y es capaz de impregnar del espirítu de Elvis a temas que nunca habia cantado, porque había muerto, o porque simplemente no lo había hecho.
